The strategic plan for the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders addresses the need for retaining and enhancing the program to meet the changing aspects of the profession. Goals include: expanding interprofessional education and practices; continuing curriculum review to ensure student success; maintaining student recruitment and retention; further developing program assessment tools; enhancing of clinical opportunities for students; increasing office staff resources; and increasing and maintaining university funded clinical and tenured faculty lines. In addition, our strategic plan has addressed the continued need for financial resources for updating and maintaining our clinical equipment and materials. When the revision of the strategic plan was completed in January 2020, suggestions from alumni and university administration were considered. Input from current students was obtained during informal discussions on needs of the program.
