Courses with Local Examinations
The following courses at Fort Hays State University have developed test procedures that may be completed. Students interested in testing out of the following courses should speak with their advisor to confirm the course is appropriate and then follow the follow the procedure for the course. Students contact the department for full details or the CPL coordinator for additional assistance.
Students will pay the Advanced Standing Examination Fee, (currently $25/credit hour) and must not have previously received a grade, including incomplete and U, for (1) the course, (2) any course for which the course is a prerequisite, or (3) any course that transfers to FHSU and fulfills a course as noted in part one or two. If the student passes the exam the course will be recorded to the transcript with a grade of "CR".
For most exams, FHSU Online students will be able to take the local examination without coming to the FHSU campus. If you are unable to come to the Hays campus, discuss with the test contact how you may take the exam and if you will need to make plans such as a proctor, testing space, or audience. We are working to eliminate any need for additional expenses, but the student will pay any additional fees the distance arrangement requires.
Some exams may require completion during the Fall or Spring semesters.
