Transfer Credit
Transfer of credit is not an admission requirement for international students. It is only required if a student wants consideration of prior international coursework to be transferred or if they are a student athlete with transfer credit. Fort Hays State University cannot discuss the transfer of international credit until students have been admitted and have had all international post-secondary coursework evaluated.
Transferring From an International Institution
If students want to transfer college credit from an international institution, the student must have a course-by-course evaluation completed by a NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services) member. Please contact international@fhsu.edu for more information on choosing the correct type of evaluation.
- The evaluation company will need to send an official report of its evaluation to the FHSU Registrar’s Office or be submitted through the appropriate electronic portal for each international transcript. This evaluation will determine what credits will be accepted to fulfill degree requirements.
- The following evaluation companies offer specific opportunities to FHSU applicants:
- WES ICAP – Once the evaluation is complete, results will be sent directly to Fort Hays State University.
- SpanTran - Use the custom portal for FHSU applicants that includes discounted rates for evaluations.
- IEE – Use the custom portal for FHSU applicants that includes a discounted rate for the evaluation and delivery option by using the digital institutional portal with standard processing.
