About the Program
Students in the VALUE program can explore their interests and develop a plan of study for one year related to one of three tracks:
- Corporate leadership
- Civic/Non-profit leadership
- Scholarship/Leadership Research
Mentoring and Coaching
Students can plan and execute their projects in the community with the one-on-one help of a mentor specific to their chosen track.
Experiential Learning
Students' experiential learning will be tied to their chosen track through corporate internships, services, and scholarship and leadership research opportunities.
Advanced Leadership Seminars
VALUE students will be required to take two courses through the program. These courses are designed to provide students with hands-on opportunities that focus on operations and collaboration skills.
E-Portfolio
At the end of their VALUE program experience, students will submit an e-portfolio to present the scope of their work to Leadership Studies faculty and VALUE mentors.
What our students are saying
Kaylie Towles, 2016-17 scholar from Wichita, KS, completed a civic engagement project on body positivity. Her Body Positivity Awareness Week launched a social media campaign with a music video and interview, hosted a guest speaker, and presented various activities in the student union to encourage students to love themselves.
