Meet the October 2018 Students of the Month
On-Campus Student: John Hubschman
John is a junior Organizational Leadership major from Copperas Cove, Texas. He is looking forward to completing his Global Leadership Certificate. Outside of school, John enjoys spending time with his children (Peyton-5, Paisley-3, and Presley-1). He chose to get involved with Leadership Programs because he enjoyed taking Introduction to Leadership Concepts while at North Central Kansas Technical College. John said the class challenged his thinking on what leadership is and how to perform leadership. John looks forward to learning more about leadership and hopes to apply the different concepts personally and professionally. John’s favorite class is Leadership and Team Dynamics because he is learning how to improve and work as a team. Also, he believes this class will be beneficial to help maximize the success of future teamwork.
Virtual Student: Chad Smith
Congratulations, Chad!
International Student: Sihao (Lance) Chen
Lance is a senior Organizational Leadership and Finance major from Zhengzhou, Henan, China. Lance is currently working to become a business professional in the finance field. He is involved in the Entrepreneurship Center for Students. In 2016, China started the Electric Power Reform and Lance feels empowered to join this industry. Outside of school, Lance plays basketball, guitar, and e-sports. Also, he has his own business selling electricity. Lance got involved with the leadership department because "I think leadership is a widely applied and practical subject. A lot of leadership knowledge can make me more efficient and enhance my communication and self-reflection ability." Lance enjoys LDRS 640: Principles of Civic Leadership, taught by Jeffery Bourgeois, and LDRS 310: Field Work in Leadership Studies, taught by William Allen. These two classes not only taught Lance valuable knowledge, but also taught him many moralities as a citizen and a leader.
