Jaryth is a double-major in organizational leadership and communication studies from Woodbine, Kansas. He joined the VALUE program to gain experience creating real change in his community, focusing particularly on developing youth. Heavily involved in 4-H throughout his life, and currently serving as FHSU’s Collegiate 4-H President, Jaryth hopes to one-day work for the Kansas 4-H organization developing leadership capacity in youth. He currently serves on the Kansas 4-H Youth Leadership Council as the Collegiate Advisor, and is a member of the Kansas 4-H Discovery Days Task Force. In addition, he is a member of FHSU’s Encounter Serve Team. When he has some time to himself, Jaryth enjoys playing the piano and guitar, solving Rubik’s Cubes, and relaxing in his hammock, hoping to, one day, spot the Sasquatch.
Jacki Dougherty
Jacki comes to FHSU from Wichita, Kansas. She is majoring in organizational leadership, and is working toward certificates in Global Leadership and Women & Gender Studies. Jacki joined the VALUE program to advance her understanding of leadership and challenge herself in her senior year of college, potentially taking on a research project. She currently serves as the Community Relations Director for the Student Government Association, is a VIP Ambassador to the President’s Office, a living learning community PAL, and a Tiger Team Facilitator. Her extensive involvement at FHSU has led her to plan for graduate school, and she hopes to work in student affairs in the future, particularly with orientation and first year experience programming. When she has spare time, Jacki enjoys playing the guitar, hiking, and travelling.
Caden Frank
An organizational leadership major from Omaha, Nebraska, Caden joined the VALUE program to further develop his leadership skills and to explore potential career options, as he hopes to, one day, work on leadership development programs for young adults entering college or the workforce. Caden is a member of FHSU’s men’s soccer team, and serves as a VIP Ambassador for the President’s Office. In addition, he is a student in the university’s Honors College and a member of the Fort Hays Honors Society. In his free time, he enjoys playing games and watching movies.
Tyra Hayden
Coming to FHSU from Ulysses, Kansas, Tyra is a General Studies major, who hopes to one day teach in special education. She joined the VALUE program to network with other students and gain more knowledge about her future career. She hopes this experience will help her grow her own personal platform. Tyra is involved on-campus with FHSU’s Collegiate 4-H, and serves as a VIP Ambassador for the President’s Office. She is also a “Big” with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ellis County, and competes with the Miss Kansas Organization. In her free time, Tyra enjoys reading, watching movies, and swimming. To stay alert, Tyra always has coffee and Sonic on-hand.
Alexandria Kultgen
Originally from Waco, Texas, Alex joined the VALUE program to further her understanding of leadership, and improve the FHSU and Hays communities. An organizational leadership major, and political science minor, Alex serves as a project coordinator in the Center for Civic Leadership’s Global Leadership Project. She is also a member of the Black Student Union, and attended the Kansas Women’s Leadership Institute in the summer of 2019. In the future, Alex wishes to be an advocate for civil rights and women’s rights. Other interests include travelling, reading, attending concerts, and spending time with her dog.
Quinn Munk
Quinn is an organizational leadership major who joins the VALUE program from Salina, Kansas. She is an active member of the FHSU Greek Community, and her sorority, Sigma Sigma Sigma. She also serves as a Tiger Team Mentor, and is a member of the Christian Challenge Leadership Team. Quinn joined the VALUE program to be a part of something bigger than herself, and work toward creating positive change for others. In her spare time, Quinn enjoys spending time with her friends, taking walks, spending time with dogs, and bingeing the show, Friends, all while listening to music by the Jonas Brothers.
Charlotte Peterson
Charlotte is online student from Liberal, Kansas majoring in organizational leadership. She is also currently earning a master of professional studies in organizational leadership through FHSU’s accelerated graduate program. After spending time in the U.S. Army, Charlotte now works as the director of volunteer services at the hospitals in Ulysses and Garden City, KS. She wears many hats in and outside of work, and joined the VALUE program to help her apply what she is learning in her leadership classes to her own work. In the future, she would love to lead team development programs and/or become a project manager. In her free time, Charlotte is quite busy, as she enjoys kayaking, fly fishing, traveling, and playing with her grandkids.
