The graduate program in school psychology at Fort Hays State University has a long history of successfully preparing individuals for entry into the profession of school psychology. This rich and rigorous program requires completion of a Master’s program (30 hours) as well as completion of the Education Specialist in School Psychology program (36 hours) in order to develop budding professionals who are very well prepared for the field. Our graduates have excellent job placement rates. Upon completion of the Education Specialist program, students are eligible for conditional licensure as a school psychologist in Kansas, as well as other states, as they complete a supervised internship of 1,200 hours.
We have three different versions of the school psychology program, including a virtual program, accelerated program for qualified students, and a traditional on-campus program. Use the buttons above to explore our program options and determine which option you are most interested in pursuing.
Effective March 16, 2021, all first-time applicants to the FHSU School Psychology Program must apply at the M.S. level. If upon acceptance and review of transcripts, the committee believes that a candidate may be qualified to begin at the Ed.S. level, the committee will request that the applicant provide relevant syllabi to review for equivalencies of coursework to make a determination regarding possible entry at the Ed.S. level.
For information regarding licensure requirements, please see our Licensure Disclosure.
