In addition to the electronic library services and resources that can be accessed from anywhere in the world, on-campus students have access to all the physical materials and spaces at Forsyth Library in Hays, Kansas.
Using the Library
On-campus students have access to all the physical and electronic resources at Forsyth Library. Use the the library catalog to search.
While the library catalog includes some resources housed within the research databases, you can often find more relevant resources by searching directly within a specific research database.
Need a book or article that Forsyth Library doesn't have?
Create an interlibrary loan account and request articles, theses, dissertations, and e-book chapters to be delivered electronically through the interlibrary loan platform. You can also request physical materials such as books, microforms, and audio/video materials to be mailed from a lending library to be ready for you to pickup at Forsyth Library.
Special Collections curates and provides access to unique materials around the themes of Classic Children's Literature, Ethnic Studies (local history), Great Plains Research (regional history), Military History, Rare Books, and University Archives (university history).
To use the Special Collections and Archives, you can:

Search the Forsyth Library Catalog. Begin by searching keywords for your research topic. From the results list, use the right sidebar to filter results under the “Location” heading to show only the locations with the prefix “Special Collections.”

Browse the Finding Aids for select collections in both Special Collections and Archives with overviews of the collections' content with related materials being grouped by folders and boxes.

View and download the digitized primary source materials in "Forsyth Digital Collections" or "Archives Online" area on the FHSU Scholars Repository.

Schedule an appointment with Special Collections and Archives staff to view the physical materials.
