The goal of the University Archives is to collect, preserve, and provide access to research materials that document the historical, cultural and intellectual experiences of Fort Hays State University. Materials can be found using the Special Collections and Archives Catalog.

- Executive documents from past university presidents
- George F. Sternberg Collection
- Consists of general information about George F. Sternberg’s life including newspapers, correspondence, field notes and diaries, lists of fossils sold by him, video footage of several of his digs, scrapbooks and photo albums, and several bound notebooks and writings related to his time as curator of the Sternberg Museum.
