Technology Help
Learn to make it work! Request workshops, one-on-one training, and lectures about technology, software, and apps on all of your devices, including:
Tablets and Phones
We will help you set up and learn to use a new or new-to-you tablet and find the apps to help you succeed. We can also teach you about how to use tablets in the classroom.
PCs and Macs
Whether it's learning a new software or finding your way around a new laptop, the public computers, or a device you checked out at the Welcome Desk, we're here to help.
For assistance with university email, Blackboard, myFHSU worklet in Workday, or internet connection issues, please contact TigerTech.
Software and Apps
We provide answers for questions about many popular software applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud and more. We can help you troubleshoot or connect you with resources that will enable you to learn new software or re-learn a program.
- Infobase Learning Cloud (formerly Hoonuit) is a platform that provides training on a wide variety of commonly used software applications, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, OpenOffice, Blackboard and many more! You can view a brief tutorial when you have a quick question about a program you're using, or you can view a series of tutorials and master an entire application.
Video Projects
Take the stress out of classroom video editing assignments and visit the Media Lab for easy recording. We will help you learn Apple iMovie, Adobe Premiere, or other applications so you can create a quality product. We will also come into the classroom and work with larger groups throughout the planning, filming and editing process!
Using Images and Videos
Incorporate images and videos and learn to meet copyright requirements by giving proper attributions. Visit this subject guide for a list of creative commons image and video resources.
Presentations
Being asked to create and give a presentation can be nerve-wracking. We can help you learn about presentation software, so you can plan, create, and rehearse your presentations. We are also happy to come into the classroom and work with larger groups.
