Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is a US federal statute enacted by congress in 1996. This law created national standards to protect patient health information and medical records. Several entities across campus follow the HIPAA rule when working with patients and clients.
